About Steph

Branch out from a solid root,
and the fruit will follow.

Steph, founder of Root and Branch Consulting
The foundation

Everything I do is rooted in faith.

In John 15, Jesus says “I am the vine, you are the branches.” That is not just a verse I know — it is how I live. A branch cut off from the vine does not struggle toward something better. It withers. It was never meant to survive on its own.

I see that same reality in organizations everywhere — businesses and churches running hard, spinning their wheels, ending each year in the same place they started. Not for lack of effort. But because the roots were never set. And without roots, there is no foundation. Without a foundation, there is no fruit — no matter how hard the branches work.

That longing for more — for clarity, for stability, for a path that actually leads somewhere — it does not go away on its own. It gets answered when the foundation is right.

When your books are clean, your reports make sense, and your team has a clear direction — something changes. You stop spinning and start growing. With clarity. With purpose. With hope.

“Foundation. Plans. Alignment. That is where hope, clarity, and fruit come from. Branch out from a solid root, and the fruit will follow.”

Where I come from

I have been in your shoes.

Everything I bring to Root & Branch comes from real experience — not theory. I have run a business, led nonprofits, served a church, and sat in every seat that matters.

Business

22 years as a business owner

I co-owned a landscape and snow removal company with my brothers for 22 years. We built it from the ground up, navigated every season, and ultimately sold it successfully. I know what it feels like to carry the weight of payroll, cash flow, and a team that is counting on you.

We implemented EOS using Ninety software — and I saw firsthand what changes when an organization finally has structure, accountability, and a shared vision. That experience is woven into everything I do with clients today.

Church

3 years as church treasurer

I serve as treasurer at my church in Warrington, PA. I understand the unique challenges that come with church finances — volunteer-run books, designated funds, congregation-facing reporting, and the trust that comes with stewarding people's generosity.

I also know what it means to want your church to do more in the community. I am currently launching a meal ministry that will serve people within our congregation, through a local recovery program, and at a nearby nonprofit. This work is personal for me.

Community & nonprofits

A lifetime of rallying people around causes

In 2000, when I was in 6th grade, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a neighbor introduced us to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, we immediately joined and I stayed for 19 years as one of their top fundraisers.

In 2019 we started Sauers Cares — and I say “we” because nothing we did was ever done alone. With the support of friends, family, coworkers, donors, and volunteers who showed up again and again, we ran car shows, 5Ks, golf tournaments, and bingo events. Each one raised money for a different organization and a very specific project such as a kitchen overhaul for a cancer organization providing meals, a sensory playground for a local school, a wrapped box truck delivering birthday gifts to kids who wouldn’t otherwise have them and a full office buildout for a local organization forced to relocate, just to name a few.

Sauers Cares eventually became Drive and Thrive, built on the belief that reliable transportation can change everything for someone. Together we held car clinics, covered urgent repairs, and helped people get to work, get to appointments, and navigate difficult seasons with stability and dignity.

In 2026, after much thought and evaluation, the decision was made to dissolve the organization. At its core it came down to capacity — the time, energy, and funding needed to sustain monetary-based programming long term. It was not a decision made lightly, but it was the right one for this season.

My commitment to this community is not going anywhere. What I am building at Root & Branch is a way to keep doing what I love in a way that is sustainable — helping people give back, rallying organizations around causes that are already making an impact, and setting it up so others can show up.
